Board

The Board oversees the operation of our organization, including our quarterly Book Sales, the Lobby Shop, and other fundraising efforts. Our Board is made up of volunteers from throughout the community who care about supporting the Library. Learn more about the Board and how to join us.

Officers

President

Marika is a long-time Mountain View resident, parent and dedicated Library supporter. She joined the Friends Board in 2022 and has volunteered at Book Sales and in the Lobby Shop, where her expertise as a high tech sales enablement executive is put to good use. In addition to volunteering, Marika enjoys spending time outside with her family, reading and baking. She’s famous for her créme brûlée – move over, Le Cirque!

Anthony Baxter

Vice-President; Sorting and Donations

Anthony is a Washington State native who has called Mountain View home for 20 years. He is a finance professional for a tech company and spends his free time hiking, biking and visiting the Library with his wife and son. Anthony joined the Board in 2023 and oversees Sorting and Donations.

Treasurer

Lynn serves as treasurer for the Friends. In addition to keeping the finances in order, Lynn helps with book sales, online sales and membership.

Secretary

Karin retired from MVPL in 2018, giving her more time to help the Friends. She volunteers in the shop and at book sales and trains Lobby Shop volunteers. Karin reads voraciously, so ask her for book recommendations. She also gardens, knits and is active with the Los Altos Mountain View League of Women Voters.

Membership

Lila Bell is an operations and project management leader with a passion for community engagement and libraries. Holding an MBA from Santa Clara University and a B.S. in Bioengineering from UC Berkeley, Lila brings strategic and analytical expertise. With leadership experience at YouTube, Verily, and Google, she has optimized processes, led global teams, and executed large-scale initiatives. An avid reader and advocate for libraries, Lila is committed to supporting local libraries and fostering a strong sense of community.

Sorting Room Manager

Laura oversees the sorting room, managing the intake and organization of book donations for the Friends. She works behind the scenes to ensure incoming media is efficiently evaluated, processed, and routed for the Lobby Shop, online sales, and book sales.

Marketing

Rakhee Kaushik joined the Board in 2024 and is responsible for promoting all the great work the Friends do for the Library. Passionate about community and communication, she enjoys bringing people together to support local programs. She also volunteers with her kids’ school’s PTA and works full time as the chief fundraiser for an independent school. Rakhee lives in Mountain View with her husband and two daughters and loves reading old fiction and new non-fiction, decluttering, and exploring Bay Area trails.

Online Sales

Carrie is a former product manager who joined the Friends after many years of volunteering at her kids’ elementary school library. She loves spending time at the library and appreciates how programs at the Mountain View Public Library help community members connect with one another. In her free time, Carrie enjoys reading, hiking, gardening, and going on adventures with her husband and two sons.

Book Sales

Parul is a long-term Mountain View resident, parent and MVPL member. She joined the Friends Board in 2025 and oversees Book Sales. She’s an omnivoracious reader. In fact, anything related to paper gets her excited: newspapers, magazines, diaries, journals, stamps, and even washi tape! She enjoys flying kites.

Technology

Jason Reynolds is a technology leader and entrepreneur with a focus on building innovative systems and seamless digital experiences. Founder of Jinxbot 3D Printing, Jason brings hands-on expertise in web infrastructure, backend development, and automation. Since joining the board in 2025, he has overseen all aspects of technology — including the website, email platforms, and digital operations — ensuring reliable tools and scalable solutions to support the organization’s mission.

Lobby Shop

In addition to her role on the Board, Maggie is the person to thank for all the cool stuff you see in the Friends Lobby Shop. A long-time buyer and manager for major retail brands, Maggie has spent the last 10 years overseeing merchandising for the Lobby Shop. Outside of the Friends, you may also find Maggie volunteering as a docent at Filoli Historic Trust Preservation.

Volunteer Manager

As Volunteer Manager, Ethan is responsible for coordinating the vital network of volunteers who power the Friends’ daily operations and special events. They draw on expertise in program coordination to connect enthusiastic community members with meaningful opportunities in the Lobby Shop and at Book Sales. Ethan focuses on optimizing volunteer processes and ensuring the organization always has the hands-on support needed to fulfill its mission.
